The masked rally is driven in accordance with particular regulations, relying on sports rules set by HAKS (Croatian Car and Karting Federation). It includes a drive according to a given itinerary and the demonstration of skills behind the wheel by driving through cones.

All the participants - competitors, their vehicles and arbitrators must be masked, showing their imagination and creativity. All the regularly enrolled drivers holding the valid driving licence and the certificate of registration are entitled to participate. The vehicles are divided into categories: cars, old-timers (produced by 1980) and motorcycles. The cars are divided into classes by their length.
The organisers will separately award prizes to the most originally masked individual, group and vehicle. In addition to the envisaged awards, the organisers have introduced the Transitional Cup for the most successful carnival group included in the list of participants in the Rijeka carnival which consists of at least two vehicles.

Program:

7:45-9:15 Gathering, verification and the MOT test which traditionally take place in Krimeja street (near "Paris" pizzeria) accompanied by Krimeja partygoers.
9:55 Inauguration, hand-over of keys and the start flag to rally maestro Ivo Pogorilić, afterwards follows the start.
10:05 The procession led by carnival maestro Toni, the queen and other guests sets out towards Korzo. 
10:30-11:00 Stay and parading before the public on Korzo.
11:50 Kostrena – near the playground of the soccer club Pomorac the competitors will drive the first ability test through cones while the hosts, cultural association "Špažićari" will offer tea and fritters.
The competitors proceed individually towards Bakar where the first vehicle is expected around 12:10.
Passing the point of time control, the competitors proceed to the waterfront of Bakar and the hosts will offer them melba toasts.
12.15 Driving ability test
Refreshment with traditional pasta and beans and hospitality offered by fancy-dressed persons from Bakar, waiting for results and around 15.30 announcement of results and the prize-awarding ceremony.

Octane Ball
Along the lines of the century-old tradition of organising carnival balls in Rijeka, the Auto Club "Rijeka" has organised for the tenth year the Octane Ball at the hotel "Neboder", where all the persons awarded at the masked rally will be invited to take part.
