Cruise Shipping Miami Conference

At this year's International Fair and Cruise Shipping Miami Conference taking place in Miami Beach (USA) from 15 to 18 March 2010, in co-operation with the port authorities of Dubrovnik, Split, Šibenik, Zadar and Rijeka, co-exhibitors from the Kvarner region take part as well.

Cruise Shipping Miami logo In addition to the representatives of the Port of Rijeka Authority, the possibilities and projects of the City of Rijeka, will be presented by mayor Vojko Obersnel, while tourist possibilities and information by the representatives of the Kvarner County Tourism Office, the Town of Opatija Tourist Board and the City of Rijeka Tourist Board. Further to Rijeka mayor, the mayor of Opatija Ivo Dujmić, who will present the projects of the Town of Opatija, also takes place at the MCM.

Within this visit to the USA, Miami and Florida, mayor Obersnel will also visit Fort Lauderdale, a city near Miami, similar in size to Rijeka. At Fort Lauderdale he will be received by mayor John P. Jack Seiler, and on 16 March in afternoon hours, mayor Obersnel will be introduced to the City Councillors in the course of the City Council session as representative of the city with which Fort Lauderdale would like to establish friendly relationship.

Rijeka and Fort Luaderdale share common features, among which is highlighted the fact that in issue are the port cities that develop urban tourism which underline the importance of sports and cultural manifestations.

During his stay in the USA mayor Obersnel will meet with one of mayor Gavin Newsome's deputies in the premises of San Francisco city administration.
