DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES TASKS
The City Department of Sports and Technical culture performs tasks related to city public needs in sport and technical culture, manages and controls funds allocated from the City Budget.
More specifically, the tasks are: establishing criteria for elaborating programs, methods and conditions for allocating funds and controlling funds allocated from Budget, providing professional support, education and management information system in segments related to sport and technical culture needs, maintaining or constructing facilities important for sport and technical culture development in Rijeka.
PROGRAMS, OBJECTIVES AND FINANCING
The financing of the sport and technical culture public needs program in the City of Rijeka is based on development, organization and meeting such needs, which will enable the implementation of goals:
- amateur sports and technical culture
- sport and technical culture facilities ownership
Programs in sports:
- sport supporting and promoting programs
- partially physical training and health education of children and youth
- program of Rijeka Sport Associations activities and related program boards
- program of training, competitions, organization of national and international tournaments
- program for establishing athletes' health condition
- recreational programs for citizens
- sport activities for disabled persons
- education and publishing,information systems management programs sport
- sport facilities management and construction
Programs in technical culture:
- support and promotion of technical culture programs
- children and youth education programs in technical, technological and computer knowledge and skills
- special educational programs for talented and handicapped children and youth in technical, technological and computer knowledge and skills
- employees retraining and additional qualification programs and promoting inventive works
- programs for promoting technological innovations (exhibitions, fairs, shows)
- equipment procurement
- maintenance of technical culture related facilities which are of special interest for the City of Rijeka
