Rijeka forming part of the project that by applying state-of-art ICT tools promotes historical European cultural routes

The City of Rijeka takes part in the project "TECH - TOUR: technology and tourism – augmented reality for the promotion of Roman and Byzantine itineraries", which is financed under the EU programme called “Competitiveness and Innovation”. It is a pilot-project aimed at using new technologies in the promotion of European heritage by marking single locations of exceptional cultural and historical value. In Rijeka, within the project, applying state-of-art ICT tools (Augmented Reality), the area of former ancient Roman locality Tarsatica will be shown.

The head office building of the former factory "Rikard Benčić" is the most impressive building within the former sugar refinery complex in Rijeka. In order to enable visitors access to the hidden wealth lying behind this building, the Croatian Conservation Institute has provided virtual strolls through the premises.
