MIPRO 2010 dedicated to information and communication technology, electronic and microelectronic opened its doors on Monday, 24 May and will last until Friday 28 May. MIPRO 2010 will gather about 1,000 participants from 30 countries presenting their works from the field of ICT relating to various problems connected with the economy, education, science, large systems, state administration and local self government.
This international, professional and educational gathering is the largest, the oldest, and by its structure, the most complex international manifestation, not only in Croatia, but also in this part of Europe, that for 33 years already has been gathering participants form all the parts of the world. The same as pervious conferences, MIPRO 2010 will also be a place were science, education and the economy will mutually interlock. The participants in the conference will have an opportunity to take part in a number of symposia, roundtables, workshops and seminars, where very interesting subjects will be discussed such as digital television, nanotechnology, ICT and e-sustainability.
The association MIPRO was established in Rijeka 33 years ago and the citizens of Rijeka are very proud of it, because already at that time the basis was laid in Rijeka for what it is today: the leading city of Croatia when referring to information technology. The City of Rijeka has a long and good tradition of implementing new technologies in its operation and in the entire functioning of the city, and the activities of the City Administration can be followed on-line. Owing to permanent investment in IT infrastructure, software, hardware, and in particular in human resources, new projects are developed whereby improving communication with citizens, therefore the City of Rijeka has been represented at MIPRO.
