Launched the internet site "Kamov"

Rijeka, 6 October 2010
Within the campaign "Stick Close to Kamov", the internet site has been launched titled "Kamov", conceived with the aim of promoting interest in getting to know the personality and work of Janko Polić Kamov and re-reading his writings as a tribute to the avant-garde writer and the central part of the campaign.

Vojko Obersnel and Invanka Persić The web site Kamov will be subject to supplements in the course of years, given the fact that in addition to sections "Biography", "Works", "Gallery" etc. it includes the sections "Inspired (by Kamov)" and "(Others) about Kamov" which will reflect the projects created or those being created, inspired by Kamov's life and writings, or the texts collected by other authors dedicated to the author or his writings.
The site will be a place where texts about Kamov will be released on a continuous basis, as well as new findings, and all the projects that include Kamov as a starting point or a point of inspiration. In line with this, the content of the site presented today is just the beginning of a much wider story about, beyond doubt, a great name of our literature, and will be available for all the readers that want to know more and comment the writings of Janko Polić Kamov.
www.kamov.hrThe City of Rijeka supports, in particular, the translation of Kamov's works into international languages, and in line with this, the site will be translated into several languages, since so far a significant part of Kamov's writings has been translated as well.
The site will always open with a different quotation taken from Kamov's writings, enabled to be released directly on social networks. The other sections include "Works", "Biography", "(Works) about Kamov", "Inspired by (Kamov)", "Gallery", "100 years (manifestations in the year of Kamov)" and "News".
In the year of Kamov, within which this site is launched, many cultural programmes have been dedicated to Janko Polić Kamov. By the end of the year a monograph is to be released by Mladen Urem and his associates "Janko Polić Kamov, His and Our Age". The second issue of the magazine "New Kamov" is entirely dedicated to the anniversary of the death of Janko Polić Kamov. Moreover, the collection of short stories "Kamov's New Clothes" will be published. The short stories have taken part in the competition "Kamov In Short" organised by the Rijeka City Library, and the collection will be promoted in the Month of the Croatian Book, earlier in November.
Ivanka Persić, head of the City Department of Culture pointed out that 45 works had been received from across Croatia, and that the jury composed of Mladen Urem, Milan Zagorac and Zoran Krušvar had chosen the ten top writings, to be released in the collection of short stories. Next year will mark the beginning of the Residential Programme Kamov, conceived as a sojourn of creative individuals of various profiles from the field of literature, visual and audiovisual arts and social science in the City of Rijeka.
