Presented "Welcome to Rijeka" magazine

"Welcome to Rijeka" is the name of the new magazine published by the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka, which will enable visitors to Rijeka to get acquainted with its history in an interesting manner, with places worth sightseeing, while still introducing them to its present and people who promote Rijeka and develop its future, so that Rijeka may again become a true Central European cultural, art and tourist centre.

Petar Škarpa, director of the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka pointed out that the aim of launching this magazine was to show a different image of Rijeka through presentations of projects, manifestations and people. The magazine in Croatian and English, will be distributed to targeted public – management boards of large Croatian companies, foreign ambassadors to Croatia, representative offices of the Croatian Tourist Board in the world, tour operators, in other words to all who decide to bring tourists and invest in Rijeka. The magazine, published in 4,000 copies, is envisaged to be released semi-annually so that the next issue should be published in May.

Petar Škarpa, Vojko Obersnel and Tomislav Rukavina The Mayor of the City of Rijeka, Vojko Obersnel thanked everyone who had taken part in the creation of this high-quality magazine, that is going to meet the interests of all the visitors to Rijeka, regardless of the reason why they arrive.

"Any serious city, in particular a city wishing to develop as a tourist destination, must have at disposal such a magazine," said Obersnel.

The first number of the magazine "Welcome To Rijeka" brings many stories about events and people who talk affirmatively about Rijeka as well as service information – anything that a visitor to Rijeka may find interesting.

New magazine "Welcome to Rijeka" As the leading theme, the magazine brings the story about the Rijeka Carnival, and it also announces the upcoming events  – The European Chess Championship and the European Ski Cup. It also presents the cinema Art-kino Croatia, the hotel Bonavia, the Tower Centre, the Astronomy Centre Rijeka, the Tunnel, as well as the free wireless internet project in Rijeka. One may also read an article dedicated to the Architectural Bureau Radnić-Turato, conversations with a young grand master Marin Bosiočić from Rijeka and Elena Brumini, an actress from Rijeka.

The magazine also brings a story from the past about how Torpedo was born, then photo zoom by Rino Gropuzzo, as well as a delicious corner – with the presentation of the Terminal, honey souvenirs and wine.
