After it has been organised for 13 years in different regions, the Six-Race Junior Rowing Regatta of the regions Friuli - Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Carinthia, Upper Austria, Slovenia, Istria – Croatian littoral will be again organised at the Bakar regatta field, in which male and female under 16 rowers will take part. Since regional teams are in issue, and not club teams, and four countries that participate – Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia – and in view of the fact that for so young rowers the European championship does not exist, we can say that for this age, this is the most significant rowing event. It is expected that at the Regional Rowing Regatta about 200 athletes would compete. The regatta starts at 04:00 p.m., on Friday, 27 August.

This week Bakar will become a true rowing centre since on Saturday, 28 August the North West Croatia Regatta Cup and the International Kvarner Regatta will be held. The racing programme starts at 11:00 a.m. with preliminary races, while final races will be held from 01:00 to 04:00 p.m. 15 Croatian clubs take part in the cup, while clubs from Izola, Portorož, Kopar and Italian Saturnia, will take part in the International Regatta. About 400 participants are expected to take part.
