The prize was taken over by the director of the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka, Mr. Petar Škarpa.
In the traditional campaign carried out during the tourist season - "Tourist Flower – Quality for Croatia" the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Croatian Radio and Television awarded recognitions and prizes aimed at improving the competitiveness of the Croatian tourist offer, to the best Croatian tourist destinations, companies and individuals that at the same time maintained their autochthonism and recognisability.
Thus, the series of recognitions in tourism awarded to the City of Rijeka continues since last week Rijeka mayor Vojko Obersnel received the 2010 F.E.S.T. chart, while the City of Rijeka Tourist Board was acknowledged by 2010 GOLDEN INTERSTAS for merits in developing tourism in 2010. These prizes are acknowledged by the European Federation of tourism journalists and Interstas to the most successful individuals, companies and cities.
Within the selection for the 2010 prize of "The Blue Flower" assigned by the Croatian Tourist Board, in the territory of the Primorje Gorski Kotar County, the Tourist Information Centre Rijeka and the International Rijeka Carnival were declared as the best and a special accolade was awarded to the Public beach for disabled Kostanj. In April the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka was the winner of an international recognition – HEART OF GOLD in tourism, as the organiser of the best tourist manifestation in Southeast Europe in 2009 – International Rijeka Carnival.
