Last year Rijeka proved to be the excellent organiser of the world senior and junior individual nine-pin bowling cups.
At the 2nd Individual World Cup U14 9 girl cadets from Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia will take part and 10 cadets from the same countries and the representative of Poland. The 7th Individual World Cup U18 will gather 12 younger junior girls from Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia and 13 younger junior boys from the same countries and a representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The official delegations from 13 countries will include overall 79 persons. In both cups medals are awarded in the following disciplines: tandem mix (mixed pair), individual (m and f) and classification by nations.
110 Junior girls from the following 14 countries take part in the 15th World Junior Championship: Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia and 131 junior boys from the same countries and the representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Switzerland. The official delegations from 17 countries will include overall 305 persons. Medals are awarded in the following disciplines: team, tandem (former pairs), tandem mix, sprint, individual and classification by nations.
The actual world younger junior champion Nika Cvitković, a member of the club "Mlaka" from Rijeka, will represent Croatia at the Individual World Cup U18, while at the World Junior Championship in addition to N ika, two more girls from Rijeka will take part: Snježana Kramar ("Rijeka") and Maja Nanić ("Mlaka").
The opening of U14 and U18 competitions is on Friday, 21 May, and for juniors U23 on Monday, 24 May.
