Immediately before the beginning of the costumed procession, in the municipal building the mayor of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel will receive the representatives of carnival groups, while at the same time on Korzo within the carnival programme "First Rijeka Majorettes" will present themselves, as well as the children's choirs: "Mali Riječani", "Morčići", "Male Tratinčice" and "Tratinčice".
The carnival procession will take the traditional route: Delta – Ribarska – Square bana Jelačića – Scarpina - Korzo – Square of the Republic of Croatia - Adamićeva – Zadarska – Riva – Gat Karoline Riječke. Along the route 5 stages will be set up with loudspeakers where different presenters will be announcing costumed groups:
Delta (to east from the entrance to the parking area) – Ernest Marinković
Scarpina (near the City Library) – Jadranka Čubrić
Korzo (between the HQ of the Croatian Post and the department store "RI") – Josip Krmpotić
Square of the Republic of Croatia (in front of Mc Donalds) – Ivica Nikolac
Jadranski trg (along Adamićeva st.) – Denis Brižić
During the Children's Carnival Procession for all who are interested in it, face painting will be organised, and after the procession has marched Rijeka downtown, for all the participants an entertainment programme will be organised under the pavilion raised at the Karolina Riječka pier, led by Vale and D.J. Tomy.
In this year's Carnival procession children from the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Lika-Senj County, from Croatian hinterland (Strmec) and groups from abroad – from Slovenia (Ljubljana, Preserje), Serbia (Pančevo, Šabac) and Montenegro (Herceg Novi) will take part. This year the elementary schools from Rijeka will also host pupils of the following elementary schools that they cooperate with during the year:
