This year's Ethno Festival offers a rich programme, within which conferences on minority issues will be held, as well as the Children's Poetry Festival, the Chess Tournament and the unavoidable Folk manifestation. The conference on the topic of Minority Communities – Tolerance will take place at the City Hall, moderated by Miomir Matulović. Later on at 19:00h, the City Hall will host the promotion of a book by Dimitrije Popović dedicated to three Biblical women: Maria Magdalena, Judith e Salomé. Tuesday, 21 September at 11:30 h, in the organisation of the Council of the Slovene National Minority, at the address: Riva 10, mayor Vojko Obersnel will unveil a memorial plaque dedicated to Josip Gorup.
The particularity of this year's programme of the Ethno Festival is the Poetry Festival of children belonging to national minorities, realised in co-operation with the Rijeka branch of the Serbian Cultural Society "Prosvjeta", pointed out Višnja Višnjić-Karković, associate at the City Department of Culture. The festival will take place at the primary school Dolac, and it will host Vasil Tocinovski, Mario Schiavatto and Jovica Đurđić.
This year's edition of the Folk manifestation will take place at the Croatian Cultural Centre (HKD) at Sušak, on Sunday, 26 September, where 6 folk orchestras e 5 folk ensembles will present themselves. Admission to all the programmes is free of charge.
The Ethno Festival that this year takes place form 22 to 26 September is organised by the City of Rijeka, under the auspices of the City of Rijeka and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.
