The utility company Autotrolej presented 7 of the 32 new buses acquired within the project titled “Strengthening the public transport system”, for which an EU grant was provided through the Integrated Territorial Investments mechanism (ITI ) within the Rijeka Urban Agglomeration.

The utility company Autotrolej presented 7 of the 32 new buses acquired within the project titled “Strengthening the public transport system”, for which an EU grant was provided through the Integrated Territorial Investments mechanism (ITI ) within the Rijeka Urban Agglomeration.

The buses are articulated, branded MAN Lions City G, with a capacity of 143 passengers and a total value of HRK 21,997,937.50 (including VAT). The buses have engines that meet the E6 standard, and are equipped with air conditioning and video surveillance systems.

The new buses were purchased within the project titled “Strengthening the public transport system” through the Integrated Territorial Investments mechanism (ITI mechanism) for the Urban Agglomeration of Rijeka under the operational program Competitiveness and Cohesion. The project represents the modernisation of the existing vehicle fleet of Autotrolej. Within the project, information displays will be introduced that announce bus arrivals at bus stops, furthermore, smart traffic lights will be introduced at 6 intersections in the city, and a mobile and web application will be developed that announces bus arrivals at bus stops.

7 NEW BUSES PURCHASED WITHIN THE PROJECT “STRENTHENING THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM”,

The project is aimed at improving capacities by increasing travel speed and reducing operating costs, improving traffic reliability and safety, reducing emissions and air pollution, increasing the number of transported passengers in public transport in regard to passenger cars, adapting to EU standards, introducing modern passenger information systems and increasing the availability of information for passengers.

The total project value amounts to HRK 81,003,357.91, of which the EU grant amounts to HRK 54,563,477.00. The remaining amount of approximately 26.5 million kuna has been provided by Autotrolej and project partners, City of Rijeka and Rijeka promet.

All 32 new buses of Autotrolej will be put in service by the end of May.
