Since 2013, “Spajalica” has presented a number of artistic interventions in public space in downtown Rijeka. More than 50 domestic and foreign artists has dealt with research into urban space and activation of public through artistic interventions that encompass performances, installations and outdoor workshops. “Spajalica” makes part of the EU project titled Soft Control where  MMCA takes part together with eight EU partners.

Having terminated the project, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art continued developing, through Spajalica, actual cultural practices tied to public and urban space reactivation. Moreover, it deals with inability to adjust and the positioning of man in social and economic international capital movements.
