Sculptures and monuments in public spaces are maintained by their owners. However, if they are registered as individual cultural goods or if they are located in the territory of the protected urban complex of the City of Rijeka, then they are under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture, Conservation Department Rijeka. The City of Rijeka maintains and protects public sculptures and monuments which it owns.
