The Social Programme of the City of Rijeka recognises victims of the Homeland War as a particularly vulnerable group of citizens. Owing to this programme, there are a number of social rights available for them, first of all, those intended for their children.

  • Right to one-off assistance (gift voucher) for the  purchase of new baby essentials
  • Right to adapted  baby food (with a medical indication)
  • Right to assistance in settling the costs of attending  nurseries and kindergartens (full-day and half-day programmes)
  • Right to assistance to settle the costs of  lunch of pupils organised in primary schools
  • Right to assistance to settle  the costs of meals (brunch and lunch) of pupils attending extended programmes or full-day programmes organised in primary schools
  • Right to  one-off assistance to children of perished, deceased, imprisoned or missing Croatian defenders of the Homeland War for the purchase of school accessories
  • Right to  monthly tickets free of charge for lines within the zones where public transport is carried out by Autotrolej
  • Right to assistance to settle the costs of  utility rates
