The amount of financial assistance depends on one’s pension. Pensioners who receive pensions in the amount up to HRK 1,000, obtain the right to financial assistance which is equal to the difference between that amount and HRK 1,200, while pensioners whose pensions exceed HRK 1,000 but are less than HRK 1,400, realise the right to monthly financial assistance in the amount of HRK 150 (every year the mayor of the City of Rijeka brings in a conclusion whereby determining the amount of assistance).

The assistance is regularly paid into the pensioner’s bank account every month starting from the date of approval of this right until the end of the calendar year, thereafter assistance can be requested again.

Who can receive assistance?

A pensioner whose pension is less than HRK 1400 (including equalisation supplement). An additional condition for realising this right is the following: the pensioner is not an owner or co-owner of a real estate item in the Republic of Croatia, except the one serving for housing purposes  (a second flat/house, vacation house or business premises).

How to realise assistance?

In order to get this type of assistance, requests should be submitted at the counter hall of the City of Rijeka, at the address: Titov trg 3, counter no. 5, on working days from 8.30 to 15.30.

During the procedure of recognising and realising this right, relevant facts and circumstances may change (e.g. change in the number of household members, change of address) that the applicant/beneficiary shall timely report to the Department of Health and Social Welfare.
