“Education to life skills” – the programme aimed at promoting health and personal development of pupils attending from third to seventh grades of elementary schools.

Education to life skills is a primary addiction prevention programme (smoking, alcohol consumption and drug abuse) and for the prevention of other risk behaviour such as violence.

Within the programme, workshops are organized for pupils attending from third to seventh grades of elementary schools. The programme seeks to develop self-respect, self-confidence, self-control, social and communication skills, skills to cope with peer pressure, etc. The programme is implemented by classmasters and / or professional associates who have completed a special course for programme implementation.

The Educational Public Health Institute of the Primorje – Gorski Kotar County provides work materials, courses for the programme leader, supervision and evaluation, under the guidance of the Department for the prevention of addiction.
