In 2009, the City of Rijeka prepared its strategic noise and conflict maps which show noise from road and rail traffic in the city of Rijeka.

The strategic noise map is the fundamental noise map dedicated to a comprehensive assessment of the citizens’ exposure to noise from various sources. For this reason, strategic maps are prepared that include only one determined main source of noise.

The conflict map is a distinctive map prepared on the basis of the drawn up strategic noise map, which shows the difference between the existing and / or predicted noise emission statuses and permitted noise levels.
