These investments are among basic prerequisites for a comfortable life of citizens in the city, for the development of the entrepreneurial system and for luring new investments.

The public utility system of the City of Rijeka comprises utility companies and LLC owned or co-owned by the City of Rijeka that maintain public utility infrastructure in the city.

Part of funds dedicated to the construction and maintenance of utility infrastructure is earmarked in the city budget, while part of it is provided from the sale of services offered by utility companies and from other sources.
