Sports clubs for people with disabilities
In Rijeka, people with disabilities can practice sports at near twenty sports clubs. The list of sports clubs is available on the website of the Sports Federation for people with disabilities of the City of Rijeka:
Adaptation of the sports facilities managed by “Rijeka sport” to people with disabilities
All sports facilities managed by Rijeka sport are adapted to a certain degree to people with disabilities, and the level of adaptation mostly depends on the time when such structures were built and, further to this, a possibility to make adaptations when refurbishing it.
Co-financing of training and competitions of people with disabilities
Through the Programme of public necessities in the field of sports, the City co-finances training and competitions of people with disabilities and hearing-impaired people. Budgeted funds are intended to organise and implement programme activities, as well as for recovery and re-socialisation with the aim of including in the programme activities the largest possible number of disabled and hearing-impaired people.
The co-financing includes sports activities promoted by the clubs for disabled and hearing-impaired people and the activity of the Sports Federation of disabled people of the City of Rijeka.
