The City of Rijeka is the founder of the entities “Dječji vrtić Rijeka/Rijeka Kindergartens”, Dječji vrtić Sušak/Sušak Kindergarten”, “Dječji vrtić More/More Kindergarten” where the regular preschool education programme is implemented and a number of other programmes for children from the age of 6 months until elementary education.

In addition to regular programmes, the entities implement programmes that are dedicated to children with developmental disabilities, to talented children, children, members of national minorities, and programmes enriched with specific topics (lessons of foreign languages, and other programmes of artistic, cultural, religious and sports character).

The City of Rijeka provides entire or partial assistance as regards the reimbursement of the costs that relate to the regular preschool education programme for socially vulnerable categories of citizens whose children are enrolled in nurseries and kindergartens.
