By further developing the airport, its capacity to implement new safety and air traffic regulations will be expanded, assuring its year-round utilization with increased passenger and cargo throughput.<\/p>\n<p><u>The project involves the following construction activities:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reconstruction and extension of the passenger terminal,<\/li>\n<li>reconstruction and extension of the aircraft parking platform (apron) and reconstruction of the runway,<\/li>\n<li>construction of storage and handling facilities for goods transported by air,<\/li>\n<li>reconstruction of existing taxi ways and construction of additional taxi ways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Municipality of Omi\u0161alj, Island of Krk<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6948 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/Rijeka-Airport-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"Rijeka Airport\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ownership:<\/strong> Rijeka Aiport Ltd. owned by: the Republic of Croatia (55%), Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (20%), City of Rijeka (10%), City of Krk (4%), City of Crikvenica (4%), City of Opatija (4%) and the Municipality of Omi\u0161alj (3%)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6950 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/Rijeka-Airport-Location-192x300.jpg\" alt=\"Rijeka-Airport-Location\" width=\"192\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Realization model:\u00a0<\/strong>EU funding will be available for the Rijeka Airport project public-private partnership model concessions, concessions on service with the characteristics of public-private partnership.
