These humanitarian initiatives are implemented by the Faculty Committee of all students enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka. Both projects include blood donation initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of blood donation and encourage students and all citizens to continuously donate blood.<\/p>\n

Moreover, in both projects students with their voluntary work contribute to the prevention of the development of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, by measuring blood pressure in citizens and the blood sugar level. By participating in the project students learn how to make contact with patients to get their confidence and in the presence of older colleagues they practice professional services in the field of health and results explanation.<\/p>\n

The humanitarian initiative “The Drops of Life”, was launched in 1995, and is held, as a rule, in December, while “The Days of Health” have been organised since 2007, on the occasion of World Health Day<\/p>\n
