{"id":2722,"date":"2017-02-27T11:08:20","date_gmt":"2017-02-27T10:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/?page_id=2722"},"modified":"2019-04-23T09:30:53","modified_gmt":"2019-04-23T07:30:53","slug":"redesignation-revitalisation-former-complex-rikard-bencic-rijeka","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/themes-for-citizens\/culture\/cultural-heritage\/capital-programmes-cultural-heritage-protection-conservation\/redesignation-revitalisation-former-complex-rikard-bencic-rijeka\/","title":{"rendered":"Change of intended use and revitalisation of the former complex Rikard Ben\u010di\u0107 in Rijeka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The project titled \u201cChange of intended use and the revitalisation of the former complex Rikard Ben\u010di\u0107 in Rijeka\u201d comprises the revitalisation of the former industrial complex \u201cRikard Ben\u010di\u0107\u201d in the centre of Rijeka and change of its intended use to public, cultural and educational purposes through investment and equipment of the following facilities:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The reconstruction and equipment of the existing facilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administrative building \u2013 building of the sugar refinery to be transformed into the Rijeka Civic Museum, of the gross area of 5,700 sq.m.<\/li>\n<li>T-building to be transformed into the Rijeka Civic Library of the gross area of 5,750 sq.m.<\/li>\n<li>The brick building to be transformed into the child house within the programme promoted by the Art-cinema, the Rijeka Puppet Theatre and the Rijeka Civic Library of the gross area of 2,971 sq.m.<\/li>\n<li>H-building in the function of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Rijeka.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public areas planning (12,690 sq. m.) within the complex<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reconstruction and equipment of the T-building into the Civic Library and the reconstruction and refurbishment of the Brick building into the child home are implemented within the project \u201cThe Revitalisation of the Ben\u010di\u0107 Complex \u2013 The Brick and T-buildings\u201d in favour of which the Ministry of Regional Development and EU funds allocated HRK 68.21 million of EU grants through the Operational Programme \u201cCompetitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020\u201c.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7543\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/Kompleks-Rikard-Ben\u010di\u0107-H-objekt-i-upravna-zgrada07-600x400-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The reconstruction of the administrative building \u2013 \u00a0building of the sugar refinery is implemented through the project \u201cTourism valorisation of the prominent monuments of Rijeka\u2019s industrial heritage\u201c, for which a grant in the amount of HRK 69 million has been approved in favour of the City from the European Regional Development Fund within the Operational Programme \u201cCompetitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>The applicant and project promotor is the City of Rijeka with the participation of partnership institutions in its implementation \u2013 the Rijeka Civic Library, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Rijeka Civic Museum, the Rijeka Puppet Theatre and the Art-cinema Rijeka.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The project titled \u201cChange of intended use and the revitalisation of the former complex Rikard Ben\u010di\u0107 in Rijeka\u201d comprises the revitalisation of the former industrial complex \u201cRikard Ben\u010di\u0107\u201d in the centre of Rijeka and change of its intended use to public, cultural and educational purposes through investment and equipment of the following facilities: &nbsp;
