The BRIGHTS (Boosting Global Citizenship Education using digital storytelling) project is aimed at promoting global citizenship education in formal and non-formal education with the help of digital storytelling techniques,<\/p>\n

Project summary:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The BRIGHTS project aims to improve two examples of good practice \u2013 (1) the methodology and curriculum of the RIGHTS project that addressed global citizenship through digital storytelling techniques and (2) the UNITE IT platform that gathers professionals from across Europe that take part in digital citizenship inclusion.<\/p>\n

Over 24 months the mentioned curriculum and the methodology will be enhanced and will serve as a basis for preparing a massive open online course, which will be attended by 400 educators in formal and ne-formal education from Belgium, Greece, Croatia and Italy. The most engaged educators will be included in the second course phase that will take place and it should prepare them for direct work with their students or workshop attendants. By using digital storytelling techniques, the educators will encourage their students\/attendants to ponder over the topics such as citizenship, democracy, human rights, tolerance, non violence, antifascism, sustainable development etc. Afterwards, students\/attendants will create their stories that will take part in the national competition, following this, they will also take part in the European competition. The best stories of all the four countries included in the project will be presented, at the projects final conference in Belgium where national winners will present their activity to EU professionals and stakeholders that belong to respective fields.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the functionality and the appearance of the UNITE IT. platform will improve. A new education task force will be created on the global citizenship education platform, devised as a place where experience, opinion and good practice gained by educators included in the project and the persons interested in this topic will be exchanged.<\/p>\n
