The checkpoints are professionally recruited offices operating in the elementary schools of the City of Rijeka attended by pupils with disabilities who arrive from other schools in Rijeka and its surroundings. For pupils with sensory-motor problems integrated in regular classes, an extended professional procedure is organised, depending on the child\u2019s degree of impairment.<\/p>\n<p>The fist Croatian specialised library for blind and visually impaired children operates in elementary school \u201cPe\u0107ine\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching assistants are available for pupils with disabilities integrated in regular classes in elementary schools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Socially disadvantaged pupils with developmental disabilities<\/strong> who realise prerequisites pursuant to the Social Programme of the City of Rijeka, achieve the right to assistance in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reimbursing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/naknade-mjesecnih-troskova-novcane-pomoci\/naknade-troskova\/podmirenje-troskova-marende-os-prehrane-produzenomcjelodnevnom-boravku-os\/\">lunch costs<\/a><\/strong> in elementary schools in the extended and full-day programmes<\/li>\n<li>Reimbursing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/naknade-mjesecnih-troskova-novcane-pomoci\/naknade-troskova\/podmirenje-troskova-boravka-jaslicamavrticima\/\">the costs<\/a><\/strong> relating to nursery school\/kindergarten fees<\/li>\n<li>Reimbursing<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/naknade-mjesecnih-troskova-novcane-pomoci\/naknade-troskova\/podmirenje-troskova-javnog-prijevoza\/\"> the costs of urban public transport<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/osobe-s-invaliditetom\/osiguravanje-mobilnosti-pristupacnosti\/prijevoz-osobe-s-invaliditetom-djecu-s-teskocama-razvoju-okviru-socijalnog-programa-grada-rijeke\/\">Transporting children<\/a><\/strong> with developmental disabilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Rijeka has adopted a model that envisages checkpoints intended for disabled children.
