{"id":6201,"date":"2018-08-27T13:56:07","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T11:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/?page_id=6201"},"modified":"2018-08-27T14:29:34","modified_gmt":"2018-08-27T12:29:34","slug":"sexual-rights","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/themes-for-citizens\/family-and-social-welfare\/prevention-of-domestic-violence-and-any-other-form-of-violence\/sexual-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Sexual rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>UN Declaration<\/h2>\n<p>At the UN General Assembly held in 2008, the Republic of Croatia gave its support to the Declaration on human rights, sexual orientation and gender identity.<\/p>\n<p>This Declaration confirms <strong>the principle<\/strong> <strong>of non-discrimination that requires that all human rights be equally applied to all human beings regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity<\/strong>, and in particular, it condemns the use of death penalty and torture based on sexual orientation or gender identity and refusal of health care.<\/p>\n<p>Article 11 of the Declaration requires from states to take all necessary measures, especially legislative and administrative measures in order to provide that sexual orientation or gender identity under no conditions could serve as a basis for pronouncing criminal sanctions, and in particular executions, arrest and detention.<\/p>\n<h2>Recommendations of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Humans Rights<\/h2>\n<p>In 2011, the Council of Europe published a report titled \u201cDiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in Europe\u201d which contain the recommendations of the commissioner for human rights intended for the governments of the Members States of the Council of Europe, aiming to prevent and combat homophobia, transphobia and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/t\/commissioner\/Source\/LGBT\/LGBTStudy2011_Croatian.pdf\">Report on the Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in Europe. <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Protection of the right to sexual orientation<\/h2>\n<p>Associations that deal with the protection of right to sexual orientation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lori.hr\/\">Lesbian organisation Rijeka<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(LORI)<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/zenskasoba.hr\/\">Women\u2019s room \u2013 Sexual Rights Centre\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kontra.hr\/\">Lesbian group Contra<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iskorak.hr\/\">Iskorak<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Queer Zagreb<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Centre for LGBT equality<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UN Declaration At the UN General Assembly held in 2008, the Republic of Croatia gave its support to the Declaration on human rights, sexual orientation and gender identity.
