{"id":791,"date":"2016-10-18T08:38:06","date_gmt":"2016-10-18T06:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/?page_id=791"},"modified":"2024-01-19T08:38:53","modified_gmt":"2024-01-19T07:38:53","slug":"population-measures","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/population-measures\/","title":{"rendered":"Population measures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Each individual decides personally where he\/she wants to live and under which conditions, where he\/she wants to study, where and what to do and finally whether he or she will get married and have children.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the local government decides on certain investments that affect decisions taken by individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Residential construction through the subsidised residential construction programme and some other models, expresses the awareness of the fact that families that fail to solve their residential issues in a quality manner have difficulties deciding to have more offspring or children.<\/p>\n<p>Investments in new kindergartens, extended sojourn programmes at school, modernisation and improvements in urban public transport and parking, as well as numerous educational and health prevention programmes and many activities dedicated to children and young people &#8211; are measures aimed at implementing an active population policy at city level.<\/p>\n<p>The University Campus is also an important investment in the city\u2019s future demographic image, assuming that part of newly arrived students would continue to live and work in our city after their studies.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the more relevant population policy measures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apos.hr\/\">Subsidised residential construction programme<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Caring for \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/odgoj-i-obrazovanje\/djecji-vrtici\/\">preschool age children<\/a>\u00a0while their parents work<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/odgoj-i-obrazovanje\/osnovne-skole\/programi-i-projekti-u-osnovnim-skolama\/produzeni-boravak-i-cjelodnevna-nastava-ucenika-u-osnovnoj-skoli\/\">Extended\/full-day sojourn of children<\/a>\u00a0in lower elementary school classes<\/li>\n<li>One-off grant for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/en\/themes-for-citizens\/family-and-social-welfare\/social-welfare\/refund-costs-subsidies-citizens\/subsidies\/one-off-assistance-for-newborn-babies\/\">newborn baby accessories <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/naknade-mjesecnih-troskova-novcane-pomoci\/novcane-pomoci\/jednokratna-potpora-poklon-bon-nabavu-opreme-novorodenceta\/\">Gift vouchers in the amount of HRK 2,000\u00a0<\/a>to socially disadvantaged parents of newborn babies.<\/li>\n<li>Continuous\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/djeca-i-mladi\/zdravstvena-i-socijalna-zastita-djece-i-mladih\/\">development of various measures<\/a>\u00a0within heath and social protection of children and youth<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/sport-i-rekreacija\/setnice-i-parkovi\/\">City development<\/a>\u00a0in accordance with the needs of \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/sport-i-rekreacija\/djecja-igralista\/\">children and youth<\/a>\u00a0and the development of school \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/odgoj-i-obrazovanje\/osnovne-skole\/programi-i-projekti-u-osnovnim-skolama\/\">programmes<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/djeca-i-mladi\/slobodno-vrijeme-mladih\/manifestacije-za-djecu-i-mlade\/\">manifestations<\/a>\u00a0dedicated to them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each individual decides personally where he\/she wants to live and under which conditions, where he\/she wants to study, where and what to do and finally whether he or she will get married and have children.
