Integrated territorial investment represents a mechanism (ITI mechanism)<\/strong> of the European Union for the period from 2014 to 2020, introduced with the aim of strengthening the roles of cities as the promoters of economic development. The mechanism serves for implementing the activities of sustainable urban development that have an emphasised territorial dimension and combine funds from several thematic goals in seven largest urban centres of the Republic of Croatia\u2013 Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Zadar and Pula, which were chosen as urban agglomerations (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek) and urban areas (Slavonski Brod, Zadar, Pula) for implementing the ITI mechanism, on the basis of an invitation issued by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.<\/p>\n The activities of the ITI mechanism may be financed from three different European funds \u2013 the European Regional Development Fund, the Cohesion Fund and the European Social Fund<\/strong>, within the Operational programme \u201cCompetitiveness and Cohesion\u201c<\/strong> 2014-2020 and the Operational programme \u201cEfficient human resources\u201c<\/strong> 2014-2020.<\/p>\n For the implementation of activities dedicated to sustainable urban development in major urban centres in the Republic of Croatia the amount of EUR 345.35 million has been provided, out of which EUR <\/strong>49.59 million for the Rijeka Urban Agglomeration where activities will be implemented, through specific goals of the operational programmes:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Integrated territorial investment represents a mechanism (ITI mechanism) of the European Union for the period from 2014 to 2020, introduced with the aim of strengthening the roles of cities as the promoters of economic development.
