One of the goals of the City of Rijeka is to help them stay healthy for as long as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/zdravstvo\/zdravi-zivotni-stilovi-navike\/\">Healthy lifestyles<\/a> <\/strong>(movement, recreation, proper nutrition etc.) help them to preserve health and improve existing problems. Various programmes are available in Rijeka, dedicated, among others, also to the third agers, which are aimed at preserving health and quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>Further information is available here below about the programmes and projects dedicated to older people, associations, institutions and individuals that organise them. The City of Rijeka provides funding and other forms of support, which are therefore partially or completely free of charge.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pensioners\u2019 Association of the city of Rijeka \u2013 pensioners\u2019 clubs and subsidised meal services (lunch) for pensioners and recreation programmes<\/li>\n<li>Retirement home \u201cKantrida\u201d Rijeka\u00a0\u2013 clubs for older people and subsidised assistance and homecare services<\/li>\n<li>Doctor\u2019s office of physical medicine and rehabilitation\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fizijatar-mile-batinic.hr\/\">Mile Batini\u0107, MD<\/a> \u2013 exercises for improving psychical and physical health of middle aged and older people<\/li>\n<li>University of Rijeka, Lifelong Learning Service\u00a0\u2013 courses at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/socijalne-usluge-i-laicke-potpore\/sveuciliste-3-dob\/\"><strong>the University of the Third Age. <\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The Faculty of Medicine, Rijeka \u2013 In addition to the programme With exercises and proper nutrition <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/zdravstvo\/zdravstvene-iili-savjetodavne-usluge\/vjezbanjem-pravilnom-prehranom-dijabetesa-osteoporoze\/\">against diabetes and osteoporosis<\/a>,<\/strong> it also promotes the projects <strong>Health Days and The drops of Life \u2013<\/strong> measurement of blood sugar levels and blood pressure measurement<\/li>\n<li>The City of Rijeka promotes the project called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/sport-i-rekreacija\/setnice-i-parkovi\/projekt-rijecke-setnice\/\">Rijeka public walks<\/a> <\/strong>and the<strong> campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/zdravstvo\/zdravstvene-iili-savjetodavne-usluge\/kampanja-rijeka-kretanju\/\">Rijeka Mobility <\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Yoga in everyday life in Rijeka \u2013 project <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dvorana-kulture.hr\/aktivnosti\/stalne-aktivnosti\">Yoga 50+<\/a><\/strong> aimed at improving health, prevention and maintaining an optimum psychophysical condition of people over 50 within the project \u201cRijeka \u2013 Healthy City\u201d, association Yoga in everday life Rijeka in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dvorana-kulture.hr\/\">Culture Hall in the quarter of Pe\u0107ine <\/a>holds a yoga programme for older people.<\/li>\n<li>City association of the Red Cross Rijeka \u2013<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/zdravstvo\/zdravstvene-iili-savjetodavne-usluge\/zdravstveno-prosvjecivanje-mjesnim-odborima\/\"> Health education <\/a><\/strong>at local boards.<\/li>\n<li>In cooperation with many partners, the City of Rijeka has published various education <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/zdravstvo\/zdravlje-edukativni-materijali\/\">Brochures <\/a><\/strong>about health and results of many research initiatives with the aim of improving our citizens\u2019 health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All the mentioned projects and programmes are available for the third agers in order to provide their psychosocial and health protection.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although health problems often accompany the third agers, there is more and more evidence that people at this age have more physical and psychical energy than we can imagine.
