In accordance with estimates made by the World Health Organisation, people with disabilities make up about 10% of the world population. Due to their specific needs in Rijeka, there are various health services dedicated to people with disabilities aimed both at preventing further health damages and maintaining the highest possible quality level of their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Here below is a list with descriptions of various health services available for children with special needs and adults with disabilities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/zdravstvo\/zdravstvene-iili-savjetodavne-usluge\/kontinuirani-nadzor-djece-mladih-cerebralnom-paralizom-drugim-oblicima-tjelesne-invalidnosti\/\">Continuous supervision of children and young people with cerebral palsy<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and other forms of physical disabilities \u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fizijatar-mile-batinic.hr\/\">Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Office, Mile Batini\u0107, M.D. <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/socijalne-usluge-i-laicke-potpore\/hidrokineziterapija-djecu-s-teskocama-razvoju-osobe-s-invaliditetom\/\">Hydro-kinesiotherapy<\/a>\u00a0for children with developmental disorders and disabled \u2013 Swimming club Forca<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/socijalne-usluge-i-laicke-potpore\/terapijsko-plivanje\/\">Therapeutic swimming <\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.poslovna.hr\/lite\/udruga-sunce\/740717\/subjekti.aspx\">Association \u201cSunce<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijeka.hr\/teme-za-gradane\/obitelj-i-drustvena-skrb\/socijalna-skrb\/socijalne-usluge-i-laicke-potpore\/terapijsko-jahanje\/\">Therapeutic riding <\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pegaz-rijeka.hr\/\">Association \u201cPegaz<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Social services<\/h2>\n<p>Various social services that are available in Rijeka for people with disabilities and children with special needs include rehabilitation, i.e. psychosocial support and early interventions whereby encouraging the development of cognitive, functional, communication or social skills.<\/p>\n<p>You will find here some of the social services dedicated to people with disabilities. You can get additional information if you directly contact \u00a0<a
