Water intended for human consumption is of such quality that it does not require the use of water filters and household appliances for preparing drinking water.<\/p>\n
In addition to the mentioned cities and municipalities, the utility company ViK supplies water for human consumption also for the needs of water service providers in I\u010di\u0107i, Krk and \u017drnovica – Novi Vinodolski. Thus, especially in the summer months, up to 300,000 inhabitants and tourists are supplied with water from the wider Rijeka area. During 2020, the utility company Vik delivered a total of 14,032,821 m\u00b3 of water.<\/p>\n
As a distributor of water services, the utility company ViK is obliged to prepare annual reports on the quality of water intended for human consumption for the previous year. The report contains data on sampling and analysis of water quality that are carried out at each stage of the water supply process, from springs, disinfection stations, reservoirs to the water supply network.<\/p>\n
During 2020, all analysed samples in the water supply network were healthy, i.e. the values of the tested parameters did not exceed the maximum allowed values prescribed by the applicable legislation.<\/p>\n
Health safety of water for human consumption supplied by the utility company ViK was also confirmed by the results of analyses conducted by the Health and Ecology Department, Public Health Teaching Institute of the Primorje-and Gorski Kotar County for the needs of the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n
In 2020, overall 402 wastewater samples were tested. All tested samples of treated wastewater met the set parameters, i.e. they did not exceed the maximum allowed values.<\/p>\n
One of the indicators of success in the process of wastewater drainage is the quality of the sea. In 2020, the sea, out of a total of 35 examined points, 33 of them were rated excellent and 2 points were rated good (Rijeka: Kantrida – Vila Nora, Kantrida – east).<\/p>\n
The results of individual tests are regularly published on the web pages of the Public Health Teaching Institute of the Primorje-and Gorski Kotar County and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
