“EU on the Move” is the title of the Erasmus + Sport project, coordinated by the Rijeka Sports Association, which was created as an upgrade of the well-known RiMove project, which has been successfully implemented in Rijeka for several years.<\/p>\n

Sports were presented to pupils attending Kantrida elementary school by the coaches of the Rijeka Sports Association. The children had an opportunity to learn the basics of athletics, handball, basketball, volleyball, judo, karate, wu shu, kick boxing and kendo. In addition to sports activities and a presentation of healthy food, an appropriate entertainment programme was organised with Santa Claus.<\/p>\n

In addition to the representatives of the Rijeka Sports Association headed by secretary Slavi\u0161 Bradi\u0107, the presentation was also attended by the general secretary of the County Sports Community Katja Luketi\u0107, as well as partners from the European countries that take part in the “EU on the Move” project.<\/p>\n

The RiMove project was launched in 2017 in cooperation with the City of Rijeka, the Rijeka Sports Association and elementary schools in Rijeka. The project relates to elementary school pupils attending from first to fourth grades. The programme itself is held in school gyms, within the prolonged sojourn programme, that is to say, as an extracurricular activity and is free for participants. RiMove promotes sports, a healthy life style and activities among the youngest, the inclusion of children in sports, the growth of their psychophysical abilities and the acquisition of elementary knowledge and skills about sports. The project is also aimed at learning pupils the basics of a healthy life style, with a special emphasis on healthy nutrition.<\/p>\n

RiMove has been recognised by the European Commission and was successfully implemented in seven European countries over the last two years. In addition to Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina also take part. The total project value amounts to somewhat over EUR 300 thousand, and its main goal was to increase awareness about the importance of physical activity for children aged from 7 to 11 years through additional education by sports professionals (coaches, kinesiologists) and the implementation of sports activities for children in each partner country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
