Budget of the City of Rijeka for 2017
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Rijeka mayor Vojko Obersnel said that 2017 budgeting had been complex due to the recent tax reform that again would put the burden on local self government, generating a deficit in millions. In spite of this fact, the Budget Proposal of the City of Rijeka for 2017 amounts to HRK 948.2 million and is up by about 2.6 %, namely it exceeds the last year budget by HRK 24 million.<\/p>\n

The budget structure remains unaltered. A large increase of about HRK 70 million relates to capital expenses in 2017, that amount to over HRK 207 million.<\/p>\n

The Budget Proposal has been forwarded to the City Council for adoption.<\/p>\n

Public Needs Programme in the field of sports<\/h2>\n

The Public Needs Programme in the field of sports for 2017 amounts to HRK 13.6 million, out of which the amount of 10.4 million accounts for the activities co-financed through Rijeka Sports Federation.<\/p>\n

Public Needs Programme in the field of culture<\/h2>\n

398 programme proposals were received in response to the Invitation to submit proposals for the Public Needs Programme in the field of culture of the City of Rijeka in 2017. About HRK 4.9 million will be set aside for culture from the city budget.<\/p>\n

Plan for distributing the monument annuity funds<\/h2>\n

Income deriving from the monument annuity has been projected in the 2017 Budget in the amount of HRK 11.2 million. The rehabilitation of the building of the theatre CNT Ivan Zajc and the revitalisation of Ben\u010di\u0107 because of the relocation of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the restoration of the double-headed eagle atop the dome of the City Tower are among the most important capital investments in the cultural heritage conservation and preservation programme.<\/p>\n

Public Needs Programme in the field of technical culture<\/h2>\n

This year HRK 2.17 million will be set aside from the budget in favour of the Public Needs Programme in the field of technical culture in 2017. One half of the funds will be used to co-finance educational programmes, while the amount of HRK 140,000 needs to be set aside for the undertaken commitments from the previous year.<\/p>\n

Energy efficiency action plan<\/h2>\n

During the Board of Mayor meeting a proposal was established relating to the Energy Efficiency Action Plan of the City of Rijeka for the period from 2017 to 2019. The City of Rijeka together with its utility services and companies implements energy policy that for a number of years has been directed towards energy sustainable development of the urban area based on the principles of environmental protection, energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources and sustainable construction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
