Canadian foundation Musagetes to launch a new project in Rijeka

Rijeka, 23 April 2014
Friday and Saturday, 25 and 26 April, Musagetes, a Canadian foundation, in co-operation with the City of Rijeka organises the second international gathering. The gathering is aimed at searching various possibilities in which art and architecture are able to transform the City over a two-day gathering through formal and informal talks, film projections, walks through the city and joint public readings.

Refurbished port cranes, a new lighting landmark of the Port of Rijeka

Rijeka, 17 April 2014
The old, disused port cranes, situated on the breakwater which makes part of the protected Urban-planning entirety have been refurbished in order to witness the rich port tradition of Rijeka. Having brought to an end the refurbishment, each crane has been illuminated with spotlights which create light of different colours and intensity.

Presented publication ”The Invisible City”

“The Invisible City” publication, created within the ’Patching the City' project, has been presented today at the City of Rijeka reception room. The publication is based on the workshop dedicated to to the coastal zone from Mlaka to Žabica, which contains some of the most valuable examples of the industrial heritage of Rijeka.

Signed the agreement for the acquisition of a smart meter-reading system within the iUrban project

Rijeka, 18 March 2014
The City of Rijeka, its affiliated company “Energo” and company “Holosys” have signed an agreement for the acquisition and installation of a system of remote energy consumption reading, the so called smart-meter system in 16 buildings owned by the City of Rijeka and 10 buildings owned by Energo. This acquisition is implemented within the iUrban project, which co-financing in an amount in excess of EUR 460,000 has been approved by the European Commission in favour of both Croatian project partners.

The co-financing of the INCA project in favour of the City of Rijeka approved by the European Commission

Rijeka, 24 February 2014
The co-financing of the INCA (INclusive INtroduction of INtegrated Care) project in favour of the City of Rijeka has been approved by the European Commission. Its general objective is to enable people aged 65+, suffering from mental and behavioural disorders better availability of social and medical services, in order to improve the quality of life of the target group. The City of Rijeka takes part in the project with EUR 307,140.00, out of which 50% will be co-financed by the EC.

The first meeting, at local level, on the “ELAIN” project has taken place in Rijeka

Within the programme Europe for Citizens, through the Department of Development, Urban Planning, Ecology and Land Administration, the City of Rijeka takes part in the project titled "Environmental Local Authorities Interbalkan Network" – ELAIN. The first meeting, at local level, with the representatives of utility companies, institutions, associations and organisations dealing with environmental protection has been held today in Rijeka.

The European Commission approves co-financing of the i-locate project

Rijeka, 7 February 2014
"i-locate" will last for three years starting from 1 January 2014, it has a total budget of EUR 4.7 million and is co-financed by the European Commission (through the ICT-PSP programme). The project includes 24 partners located in 9 European countries (Croatia, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Romania).

The co-financing of the iURBAN project approved by the European Commission

Rijeka, 19 November 2013
The co-financing of the iURBAN project promoted by the City of Rijeka and Energo has been approved by the European Commission. The project is aimed at promoting energy efficiency in the participating cities. Owing to this project, the 16 largest buildings owned by the City of Rijeka will be equipped with smart meters which in real time provide data on energy consumption. Furthermore, in public buildings an energy consumption control system will be put in place.
