During the past month, 123% more arrivals in Rijeka were realised when compared to June 2021. Rijeka owes this exceptional result in terms of arrivals, first of all, to foreign guests, whose number of arrivals soared fantastic 170%.

By comparing the number of overnight stays in June 2022 with the number of overnight stays in June 2019, the record year, an increase of 23% of overnight stays is apparent, which is certainly a very valuable result.

The largest share among foreign guests is held by tourists from Germany, followed by those from Italy, Austria, Poland and Hungary.

“Such results in June should not come as a surprise because tourism workers together with all tourism factors with joint efforts created in Rijeka a large number of attractive events in June 2022 that certainly contributed to the increase in both arrivals and overnight stays. In the first part of the year, we witnessed an upward trend in the number of private accommodation capacities, thus indicating that private investors, after the pandemic period in which they showed restraint, turned more boldly to investing and engaging new capacities for tourist accommodation”, comment the officials of the Tourist Board of the city of Rijeka.
