Aiming to implement its population policy measures, the City of Rijeka pays in one-off financial assistance to every parent, Croatian citizen having residence in the territory of the city of Rijeka and to foreign citizens or persons without citizenship having permanent residence in Rijeka. The City of Rijeka will pay one—off monetary assistance for newborn baby essentials in the amount of EUR 450 for the first born child, EUR 600 for the second child and EUR 900 for the third and each next born child.

The request may be presented until the baby completes one year.
