How did Rijeka become the 10th busiest port in Europe for a while? How was modern Rijeka created? You can get answers to these questions at the City Museum of Rijeka, thanks to the exhibition “The Birth of Modern Rijeka, 1868 – 1918.”

The exhibition is set up in the museum building (Trg Riccardo Zanella 1/1).
It can be viewed from June 12 to September 13, 2022. Information for visitors is in Croatian, English and Hungarian.

It presents over 200 works of art on two museum floors with 600 square meters of space. To get the best possible insight into this crucial period of the city’s life and history, the exhibition brings together historical objects preserved in the Rijeka area and those specially brought from Budapest for the occasion.
