The Administrative department for the activities of the Mayor, the City Council and local self-government carries out the following activities:

  • legal, advisory, protocol, professional and administrative activities relating to the scope of activities of the mayor, the City Council and its working bodies.
  • activities relating to the exercise of the right of access to information and personal data protection
  • activities relating to the publication of the Official Gazette of the City
  • activities relating to direct citizen information, through media and the city’s websites, including the interested public in the activity of the city administration through online communication channels
  • activities relating to local self-government (activities relating to citizens’ direct participation in decision-making on the local activities that directly affect their daily life and work)
  • activities relating to the realisation of the councils’ activity and of the representatives of national minorities
  • advisory and coordination activities tied to the operation of the bodies and task forces within the Rijeka Urban Agglomeration
  • other tasks within the scope of their activity determined by special laws, other regulations and decisions taken by the mayor and City Council.

Within this administrative body the following internal organisational units have been set up:

  1. Division for the activities of the Mayor and the City Council carries out legal, advisory, professional and administrative activities relating to the scope of activities of the mayor, the City Council and its working bodies, activities relating to the publication of the Official Gazette of the City, activities relating to the realisation of the councils’ activity and of the representatives of national minorities and advisory and coordination activities tied to the operation of the bodies and task forces within the Rijeka Urban Agglomeration,
  2. Division of protocol affairs, public relations and international cooperation carries out protocol activities, communication activities with citizens and other stakeholders, activities related to exercising the right of access to information and personal data protection, and activities related to the organisation of city manifestations and international cooperation,
  3. Division of media relations, online communication and projects relating to transparency in the activity of administration carries out the tasks of providing information to citizens through the media and the websites of the City of Rijeka and the tasks of including the interested public in the activity of the city administration through online communication channels,
  4. The local self-government Division carries out activities relating to citizens’ direct participation in decision-making on local activities that directly and daily affect their life and work (local self government activities).
