The No Borders Orchestra ensemble, which performed in Rijeka for the first time last year and delighted a large audience, arrives in Rijeka this year again. Their performance will take place on Sunday, 28 August 2022, in the premises of Export, starting at 8:30 p.m. Entrance is free of charge for all visitors.

No Borders Orchestra is a symphony orchestra composed of excellent professional musicians from all countries of the Western Balkans. It arose from the desire to create a regional symphony orchestra of the highest artistic quality that invites to a new kind of communication. This project rests on music and society. All No Borders Orchestra performances successfully combine musical excellence with comprehensive social awareness.

The orchestra was founded in 2012 in Belgrade and Berlin as a non-governmental organisation aimed at initiating positive social development through reconciliation and creative cooperation and it represents a platform for overcoming nationalism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia and the bloody legacy of the past in the Western Balkans and beyond. The founder and artistic director of No Borders Orchestra is Premil Petrović, conductor born in Belgrade who lives and works in Berlin.

The project was supported by the City of Rijeka, the Sigrid Rausing Trust, the European Fund for the Balkans, the Regional Cooperation Council and the Slovenian Embassy in Croatia.

The project partner is the University of Rijeka, Centre for Advanced Studies.
