The Marble Hall of the Governor’s Palace hosted the promotion of the monograph by the Croatian-Turkish Society Rijeka, that brings an overview of a quarter-century activity of this Society in Rijeka.

Six authors, members of the Society Esma Halepović Đečević, Vedran Obućina, Marija Šegota-Novak, Vesna Lukanović, Theodor de Canziani and Ajša Tutić Khalaf, worked on the bilingual monograph, and Adrian Markotić is responsible for its translation into Turkish.

The monograph deals with numerous activities of the Croatian-Turkish society during its 25 years of existence, such as Islamic architecture in Rijeka, bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, and also a number of cultural events such as the Tur Fest.

On behalf of the City of Rijeka, the promotion was attended by the Head of the City Office, Verena Lelas Turak.

The Croatian-Turkish Friendship Society was established in Rijeka in November 1995 with the aim of promoting friendship between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Turkey through activities in the cultural, scientific, sports, economic, religious and social fields.

The sponsors of this monograph are the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Zagreb, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the City of Rijeka.
