This category of citizens may take advantage of free bus rides on all urban public transport lines from zone 1 to 4, since the City of Rijeka, on their behalf, settles entire costs in favour of the utility company Autotrolej, that provides transport services.

Who can receive assistance?

Persons below 65 years of age that are not employed and have the status as a war victim (a child, widow/widower or a parent of deceased, interned or missing Croatian Homeland War defenders, Croatian Homeland War military invalids and/ or their children, civil war invalids, children of civil Homeland War invalids and children of deceased, perished or missing Croatian defenders).

How to realise assistance?

In order to get this type of assistance, requests should be submitted at the counter hall of the City of Rijeka, at the address: Titov trg 3, counters 4 and 5 on working days from 8:30 to 15:30 h.

The annual bus pass is retrieved at the counter of the company Rijeka plus, on which occasion, the decision of the City of Rijeka, Department of Health and Social Welfare shall be presented on the recognition of the right to social welfare in order to settle public transport costs. The bus pass is valid for an unlimited number of bus rides from the date of approval until the end of the calendar year, thereafter citizens may again apply for this assistance.

During the procedure of recognising and realising the right facts and circumstances may undergo changes (for instance, the number of family members may change or the address) that must be timely communicated to the Health and Social Welfare Department by the applicant or the beneficiary.
