As part of the Rijeka Carnival, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral in Rijeka hosted the Carnival Charity Gala Party.

Namely, it is a traditional carnival ball that changed its name since this year the date of its organisation was postponed for the summer period.

The ball was attended by the mayor of Rijeka Marko Filipović, the deputy mayor Goran Palčevski and their associates, representatives of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Croatia and other distinguished guests. Among the guests were Josef Markus Wuketich Austrian Ambassador, Iso Masato, Japanese Ambassador and Sung-Wook Hong, Korean Ambassador, and the representatives of the Hungarian Embassy.

Mayor Filipović thanked everyone who had supported the Rijeka carnival tradition and had joined the humanitarian action, as well as all the sponsors who had helped the Carnival Gala Party as an introduction to the international carnival procession, awaiting us the next day on Korzo.

The carnival charity gala party was also attended by the indispensable master Sandi and the Queen of the Rijeka Carnival Dora Pilepić.

The president of the Rotary Club Rijeka Sv. Vid Sanja Krmpotić pointed out that the Carnival Charity Party was one of the ways in which club members endeavoured to serve the community. With a toast “For friendship and charity” she thanked the co-organizers, partners and sponsors, and especially all the guests who had come to make this humanitarian action even more successful.

At the Carnival Charity Gala Party funds were raised to help refugees from Ukraine through the Red Cross. This is the 22nd Carnival Ball, i.e. the 16th in a row with a humanitarian character. So far, the amount of about 1.3 million kuna has been raised at humanitarian balls to help various institutions and associations.

At the party the guests were entertained by musicians Robert Mareković and Swingers band and Gelato Sisters, while the presenters were Lena Stojiljković and Dražen Zima.

The carnival charity gala party was organised by the City of Rijeka, the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka and the Rotary Club Rijeka – Sveti Vid in cooperation with the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral. The ball was sponsored by INA – Rijeka Oil Refinery and Jadrolinija.
