In the premises of Export, as part of the Porto Ethno Festival, a traditional presentation of gastronomic delicacies of members of the national minorities active in Rijeka and in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County was organised.

This year, visitors could taste specialties from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, Madagascar, Macedonia, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Turkey, Albania, as well as Roma and Ukrainian dishes.

Part of this experience is the folklore programme of the representatives of minorities, in which the following national minorities took part: the National Community of Montenegrins Rijeka, the Macedonian Cultural Society Ilinden, the Serbian Cultural Society Prosvjeta, the Slovenian Home – cultural association Bazovica, the Czech Beseda, the Community of Italians Rijeka, the Bosniak National Community, Rijeka Palade, the Cultural Society of Ruthenians and Ukrainians Rušnjak of the Primorje – Gorski Kotar County, the Rijeka Roma Youth Association Roma Future, the Croatian Turkish Friendship Society and the Cultural and Artistic Society Sevdah Rijeka.

The president of the Rijeka City Council, Ana Trošelj, came to see what the representatives of national minorities had prepared this year.

The Porto Etno is an international festival of world music and gastronomy that has been held continuously since 2017. The festival is based on the 20-year tradition of the Etno Festival, which was held in Rijeka with the aim of presenting the culture of the national minorities active in the city and the county. It got its new form and name Porto Etno within the project Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture. In 2020, its organisation was taken over by the Croatian Cultural Centre Sušak.

The aim of the festival is to promote multiculturalism, diversity and tolerance through music and gastronomy. Since 2022, the Porto Etno Festival has become part of the European MOST Music network whose mission is to strengthen the music market of the Balkans by connecting and supporting artists, festivals, clubs and institutions in the world music market.
