Within the BOOST5 project, a workshop titled “Design Thinking Workshop” was held in Rijeka.

The aim of the workshop was to reflect on examples of good practice in the field of tourism, exchange ideas related to sustainable tourism in the Zadar region, and create a document titled the Catalogue of Best Practices.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Development Agency of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (PRIGODA), the Rijeka Development Agency Porin, the Croatian Cultural Centre Sušak and the Tourist Board of Gorski Kotar.

Through the BOOST5 project, which full name is Leveraging results of 5 IT-HR projects to boost touristic valorisation of cultural, off-road, industrial and natural heritage, the document “Heritage in smaller rural areas” and “The Catalogue of best practices” will be created, with the aim of promoting sustainable tourism in Italy and Croatia and presenting of the best practices in tourism.

The goal of the project is to capitalise on the results of the cross-border cooperation projects: Interreg Italy Croatia Made in Land, Atlas, Revival, Tempus and Underwatermuse with the aim of identifying obstacles to the development of sustainable tourism in the cross-border area as a basis for new projects in the financial perspective 2021-2027.

The project is aimed at the valorisation and preservation of rich and diverse cultural heritage in order to preserve economic development, and it aims to raise awareness of the potential of tourism as an economic force and source of livelihood, at both the local and national levels.

The project is co-financed under the cross-border cooperation programme Italy-Croatia 2014-2020. The leading partner is the Science and Technology Park Tecnopolis (Italy). The share of the Development Agency of the Zadar County ZADRA NOVA as a project partner amounts to HRK 534,523.50, and in addition to the Agency, six other partners from Croatia and Italy participate in the project: the Friuli Innovation Constortium, SIPRO, Development Agency (Italy), Step Ri, Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka, the Marche Region (Italy), the City of Rijeka and the Regional Institute for Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia Gorizia.
