A meeting with the president of the Partnership and International Relations Committee of the City of Neuss, Hakan Temel, was held in the premises of the City of Rijeka.
During the meeting the participants discussed very good cooperation between Rijeka and Neuss as the cities have been fostering their friendship for many years, as well as the possibilities for deepening the relations between the two cities in future projects.
Several important investment projects underway in Rijeka were presented to Mr. Temel, such as the construction of the ACI marina Rijeka, which should also influence the tourism development of the city, as well as the construction of the Zagreb Deep Sea Container Terminal and D403 road.
Rijeka and Neuss have been friends for many years
riendly contacts were established some 40 years ago, through the activities of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, whose headquarters are in Rijeka, at the Drenova Monastery, and they run in Neuss a nursing home for more than 40 years. The Friendship and Co-operation Agreement was signed in 1990 in Neuss and Rijeka.
During all these years, the cities cooperated a lot in the fields of education, culture and sports, and at this meeting both sides expressed their desire to continue successful cooperation and expand the area of further cooperation in the future.
