REPRESENTATIVES OF REGIONAL AND LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT UNITS AND TOURIST BOARDS OF THE RIJEKA RING

“Tourist boards of the Rijeka Ring and the Municipality of Klana are united with the aim of jointly implementing marketing activities and promoting the Rijeka Ring destination, and the slogan “mosaic of experiences” describes in the best way a unique combination of activities, attractions and events that simultaneously attracts tourists of the most diverse affinities and fills their stay with an abundance of cultural, sports and entertainment contents throughout the year. It is precisely this combination that makes the Rijeka Ring distinguishable on the tourist map, making its most important comparative advantage and potential for future tourism growth”, said the Director of the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka, Petar Škarpa.

Martina Srnec, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Promotion and Advertising Division, emphasised that Rijeka and the Rijeka Ring were a step ahead of the entire tourism sector in their efforts to make Croatia a year-round tourist destination. “The Croatian National Tourist Board is proud to have been able to support this project and will continue to support the association of destinations and tourist boards in all projects aiming to achieve the highest quality tourist offer, a stronger and better tourist result and the synergy of the promotional effect of the entire project,” said Srnec.

mayor of Rijeka, Marko Filipović

According to the mayor of Rijeka, Marko Filipović, the film sublimates everything that this region has to offer, cultural and artistic heritage, rich historical heritage, diverse gastronomy and events, everything that makes a quality tourist destination. “Joined work on this project is only one of the activities whereby we endeavour to present our Rijeka Ring to guests from all over the world. Destination promotion is very important, and the growing numbers show that we are heading in the right direction. In the first three months of this year, there were almost 40% more arrivals and overnight stays when compared year over year. Tourists increasingly recognise Rijeka and the Rijeka Ring as a destination where they want to spend their holidays. “Rijeka is not just a city, it’s a way of life and I’m glad that in this film we can feel the ‘vibe’ of our region,” said Mayor Filipović.

According to the county president Zlatko Komadina the film fits into the existing tourism concept of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County – Diversity is beautiful. “Each part of our county has its own specificities, and if anyone has exceptional cultural, historical and natural heritage and landscape diversity, it is our region,” said Komadina.
