The PRONACUL project – ” Promotion of natural and cultural heritage to develop sustainable tourism in protected areas”, in which the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka is one of the partners, was presented at the 7th annual EUSAIR forum.

The EUSAIR Forum was held in Tirana (Albania), from 16 to 18 May 2022, under the motto “EU-Youth-AIR cultural exchange” and is envisaged as a great networking and experience exchange event.

The project was presented under the theme “Towards sustainability in cultural and natural tourist destinations – sharing new innovative and methodological approaches and models – experience of the ADRION subcluster”, within the panel “Sustainable and Responsible Tourism”, where green travel and new ideas for proper tourist use of cultural and natural heritage were discussed.

Zasavje, regional development agency, as a leading partner, presented the results of the project, implemented activities, results, future actions and pilot actions with special emphasis on small investments.

The forum brought together project managers, ministers in charge of foreign affairs and European funds, officials of the European Commission, relevant stakeholders and the general public with the aim of participating in the discussion about the future of the Strategy and its role in solving key issues in the ADRION region. The annual event was also aimed at raising the visibility of EUSAIR and considering the significant progress made last year, when participants learned more about initiatives and projects in the Adriatic-Ionian region related to a specific area of expertise or interest and cooperation as a central concept for the programme period after 2020 as well.
