The City of Rijeka is obliged to take care of the homeless population that lives in public or other places that are unsuitable for living in extreme, unfavourable, winter weather conditions.

To eliminate that homeless people are at risk of freezing to death, the City enables temporary accommodation in the premises of its emergency accommodation. Exceptionally, women with children may be accommodated in the premises of the Red Cross Society at city level.

Moreover, the City of Rijeka takes care that each of them is provided with at least one hot meal a day.
